Gift not punishment

'E' here:
Stress.  We all have it and deal with it one way or another.  Some stresses are good while others - not so much.  Some can be anticipated while others tend to sneak up and surprise.  I am not an expert on the topic nor do I claim to handle it well.
Too often do I seek "consolation" in the form of nutritionally void foods.  Today was such a day.  I consumed far too many calories of this sort and will receive nothing (good) from them in return. While those little moments of pleasure did provide a form of distraction from the stress - I find myself - as I often do - kicking myself for making such choices.  Silver lining - I have cankles* so there is added resistance as I raise my leg to my backside.
Here's the good news.  By 3:30 p.m. I had regrouped.  By 3:40 p.m. my head was back in the game.  Mama and I completed our 45 minutes of cardio - and well I might add.  With an open evening, and knowing that I had "extra energy" to burn, I completed a six mile walk around an area lake.  I viewed the opportunity as a gift - not as a punishment.  It was a beautiful Autumn evening in Minnesota so I went the extra mile!

89 days to go

Two chubby gals -  tired of  tight jeans, back fat, belly fat, and the arms that wave long after we are done!   Yesterday we started our 90 day workout quest - truth be told, we started 2 weeks ago then got sick. We are starting again.  We will eat very well for 83 days.  Food has always been our obstacle.  We love it and it loves all parts of our body.  We have planned food days off to celebrate because we are human and again we love to eat.  That explains the 83 days of eating well.

We are blogging to keep ourselves accountable and to encourage others.  We guarantee that we will stick to our 90 days and 83 respectively.  We guarantee that we will write every day.  Not a lot, but we will.  Humor, good choices, a set plan, and commitment will guide us in reaching our goals.

Our goals: better health, more energy, lose weight (40 lbs. combined) & inches.  Today was one hour of upper body weights and abs.  Tomorrow, one hour cardio.  All you need is a good partner - one you are not afraid to toot in front of - and a pair of tennis shoes.  Put your plan together and don't look back.  Join Us...YOU CAN DO IT!
